There are somewhere around 1200 slot machines and, unlike some casinos in WI, actually might pay out a little once in awhile! They do a good job of changing the machines up to newer or currently popular ones. CASINO: It is large for a casino in a rural area. The hotel is very nice - rooms are clean, nicely decorated, still appear new, and modern.

HOTEL: Though we live only a few miles away - we've never stayed there. Over Thanksgiving weekend, we stayed one night on North Star Casino and Resort.

We did find one restaurant in Shawno that was very good. We had many problems with the TV as did many other people we talked to It was evident that they wanted you to gamble and that's it. We felt very trapped at the casino as there was nothing else for miles except for a convenience store next door. It's only open until 8:00 and there is nothing else in the local area.

The had some nice bottles of red, but they were storing them in the refrig which ruins the taste. Evidently they don't sell much red wine outside of the house Merlot. The Longhorn restaurant food and service was good. They charged us $10 to bring a little refrig to the room Nice stand up shower. Many times we could smell the smoke coming through the vents. There is smoking everywhere in the casino, but the hotel is smoke free. The worst thing about the hotel was the smoke that came through the vents from the casino. A semi-gloss light mocha color would have been much better. The pictures were very cheap and the walls were painted flat white.showing every time someone touched the wall. The decor of the room was almost excellent, Nice wood bed set up, nice curtains, nice chairs, decorative pillows. The room was nice and everything worked well except for TV. We drove up to the hotel check in and the lady was very rude, We then went to our hotel room and found we were on the low floor and facing the parking lot when we asked for the opposite.
